It was just a matter of time before some of the major players in the online bingo business starting going offline.  Last year the passing of the United States Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was the main reason, but most sites continued to operate on a smaller scale.  Those sites focusing primarily on the US market were having a very difficult time, but still getting by.

The final nail in the coffin came when Neteller stopped accepting or making any payments to any US based bingo players.  This meant that players could no longer fund their accounts or received payouts.  This more or less wiped out the entire US online bingo market. 

While there are still some sites operating, using other payment options it is likely that in the not too far distant future they will also comply with the new US laws.  This has no effect on any other countries than the USA.  Now the only option will be to play free bingo online.  It is not quite the same, but it is still bingo.
